1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

WWW: Ishmeet, some attempt at analysing the unseen product of the film poster. Beginning to include subject terminology in your response.

EBI: However, your analysis is quite simplistic.

2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Identify at least one potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment.

- For Question 1- I could have implemented Todorov's theory of equilibrium and Propp's character theory.

- For Question 2- Reflection of UK working class contexts in both products, and also explaining social and cultural contexts linked to the film posters!

- For Question 3- Abercrombie's theory, and Neale “repetition and difference”- allows producers to evolve genre but maintain audience.

3) Read this exemplar response from a previous Year 12 (an A grade) - note this was a slightly different paper in terms of the question wording and also had an additional question 4 (we've updated it to better reflect recent exams). Identify at least one potential point for questions 1-3 from this student's paper that you could have mentioned in your assessment.

- For Question 1- I could have included how the Manors poster cooperates the key elements of Todorov's theory of equilibrium. The aspects of the poster imply that the character's harsh crime-filled lifestyle may be what disrupts the equilibrium, causing a disequilibrium. However, the main character confidently holding a gun in his hand may also suggest that perhaps he is turning to crime (with a sense of determination) in an attempt to restore and create a new equilibrium during the narrative.

- For Question 2- I should have included the similarities and differences between the two film posters- In both figure 1 and figure 2, the producers have portrayed young males as the central image. However in figure 1, the central character appears to be a white male whereas in figure 2 (Nike advert), the male depicted is of a black/Afro-Caribbean ethnicity. The differences in the ethnicity of the two males is quite interesting.

- For Question 3- I could have referred to Abercrombie's theory.

4) Did you get any media terminology or theory wrong in the assessment? Make a note of it here for future revision, including theories/terminology that you could have used but didn't.

- I did not include any of the theorists names which were Todorov (theory of equilibrium), Barthes (enigma and action codes), Levi Strauss and Propp.

5) Identify your weakest question and write three bullet points that would improve on your original response. Use the mark scheme and exemplar paper to identify these points - particularly focusing on the anticipated content and the top level descriptors.

- My weakest question was definitely Question 2, 'Explain how media products reflect social and cultural contexts' as I did not answer the question efficiently and didn't refer to British ideologies, values and cultures. To improve, I would need to start referring back to theorists and their theories, such as Barthes, Strauss, Hall, Blumler.
